This is a great review in this article about best sewing machines in the world. I would not even know that these type of Machin really exist. Quilting work and using of different sewing function is really awesome. But we need to know about different price comparison also and one can make a decision about purchasing such type of machine based on their practical needs. But overall I think these Machin will be best choice if budget is not a factor. Thanks for sharing this.
I have been using an old Singer Featherweight that was passed down from my mother. It has served its purpose well for years, but I feel like it is time for an upgrade, now that I have kids of my own.
Although I don’t use them for making quilts, I do a lot of costume design, because my daughter is really into theater, and does several plays every year. I really like making the costumes, it helps me stay involved with what she is doing without interfering too much.
My original thought was to just stick with the Singer brand, but after your review of the Brother XL 3750, I’m thinking that might be the way to go, it seems a little easier to store, since I dont’ have a dedicated space in my house to sew in. My workspace is the kitchen table!
Hi James,
I had also an old Singer Featherweight, I learn to sew on that machine, it was my mother’s sewing machine and later she allowed me to sew with it, this machine is still in good shape and it does sew like brand new, but it doesn’t have many features as the modern sewing machine.
I think you might love to have the Brother XL 3750, it’s easy to work with it and it has a few features that will make the job to make costumes for your daughter easier and faster.
It’s easy to use and it’s easy to put away when you don’t use it, and it’s also easy to keep in good conditions to work with it any time.

This was very interesting! I have never made a quilt before but I used to do quite a bit of sewing. I have a Singer sewing machine that was handed down from my grandmother, to my mother, to me so it is very old!!! What features do you value most highly when looking at a sewing machine for quilting?
Hello Celeste,
Thanks so much for your visit and for your time to write a comment.
One feature you need to look for when you’re shopping for a new sewing machine to do quilting, it’s the quilting feature, this means that you will be able to do the quilting by machine.
It will allow you to work on the free motion quilting on your quilting projects whether they are small or big quilts.
